Double drive time is the law here
On an hourly local move California bills loading, unloading and double the driving time between your addresses — on every hourly local move, whatever the distance. It is on your estimate before you book. A quote that leaves it off is not cheaper, it is incomplete.
Stairs and lifts cost time
Never a fee. Flights, long carries and lift waits are counted as hours in the estimate, which is why the estimate says how many hours it assumes.

- —Junk removal and cleaning. We will tell you who does it locally.
Our work

The kind of move this is
Access decides how long a move takes, and how long it takes decides what it costs. These are the four situations we see across the Sacramento area.
Single-family homes
Most of what we move. A garage that has been filling up for a decade, a shed, a patio set, and a driveway the truck can usually park on — which is the cheapest access there is.
Townhomes and duplexes
Stairs, a shared drive and sometimes a long carry from the kerb. All three cost time rather than a fee, and the estimate says how many hours it assumes so nothing arrives as a surprise.
Apartment complexes
Some complexes want a lift reserved or a moving window booked with the office, and some ask the mover for a certificate of insurance. We deal with the office directly and get the paperwork over before move day.
Gated and senior communities
A gate code or a visitor list, and occasionally a rule about which hours a truck may be on site. Tell us the community and we will ring them to confirm rather than turn up and find out.
Summer here runs well past 100°F. We start early on the hot weeks, because a crew that starts at seven finishes before the worst of it and your move costs fewer hours.

Nothing up front on an ordinary move
A deposit is taken only on estimates from $1,500, and it is agreed in writing with the estimate rather than asked for on the day. Below that, nothing up front. Cancel or move the date freely more than 48 hours out.
Pads and wrap come with the crew
Blankets, stretch wrap, straps and basic disassembly are part of the job, not an upsell. Materials you keep, such as boxes, are quoted separately and only if you want them.
A 3-hour minimum, then by the quarter hour
After the minimum you pay for the time worked in 15-minute increments, so a job that runs short costs less than the estimate rather than being rounded up.

Questions before you book
Do you serve my part of Sacramento area?
We cover Sacramento, Elk Grove, Roseville, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, West Sacramento, Rocklin and the rest of Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, El Dorado counties. If one end of your move is further out, ask — we usually still take it, and the drive time is on the estimate either way.
What is double drive time?
A California rule, not a company fee. Maximum Rate Tariff 4, Item 36, says an hourly local move bills loading, unloading and double the driving time between your two addresses. The tariff sets no distance threshold, so it applies however short the drive. Every mover operating legally in the state bills it. Ours is written on the estimate before you book.
How do you charge?
By the hour, with the truck inside the rate: $129 for two movers, $179 for three, $219 for four. The minimum is 3 hours of work plus 1 hour of travel at the same rate, so $516 with two movers, and after that time is counted in 15-minute increments. That hour of travel is what pays for the truck, and it covers a move of up to roughly fifteen miles; past that the drive is measured and doubled instead, as the state requires.
Do stairs, a lift or a long carry cost extra?
They cost time, which is already counted as hours in your estimate. There is no stairs fee on an hourly move — Item 140 of the state tariff sets the maximum for one at nothing, since the clock runs while we climb. Pianos and organs are the exception the tariff itself makes, and they are quoted individually. lift fee, heavy-item fee or long-carry fee — those are the fees that turn a cheap quote into an expensive invoice, and we do not have them.
My apartment complex asks for a certificate of insurance. Can you provide one?
Yes, and we deal with the leasing office directly. Tell us the complex when you book and we will get the paperwork over before move day rather than on it.
Do you speak Russian or Ukrainian?
Dispatch, the estimate and everything in writing can be in English or Russian. Part of the crew speaks Ukrainian. This metro has one of the largest Slavic communities in the country and being able to sort out a move in your own language should not be a luxury.
Will I get a price ceiling before you start?
Yes. California requires a Not To Exceed price before the move begins and does not let us go over it unless you add items or ask for work that was not agreed. We set it after talking the job through, or after a walkthrough when the move is large enough to need one.
Is a deposit required?
No. Nothing is paid up front, and you can cancel or move the date freely more than 48 hours out. Payment is taken on the day, on site, once you have seen the work.
Are you licensed?
We do not print a permit number on this site because we do not yet have one to show you. In California household movers are permitted by the California Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS), Division of Household Movers, and any mover you call should be able to give you their number. Ask us where our application stands and you will get a straight answer.
Do you do interstate moves?
No. Local moves only. An interstate household move needs federal operating authority we do not hold, and we will not broker one either — we will tell you what to look for in a carrier instead. We can pack for you before a long-haul crew arrives.
What about summer heat?
On the weeks that run past 100°F we start early, usually seven in the morning. It is easier on the crew and on your furniture, and an early finish means fewer billable hours.
Who you are actually hiring
I am Evgenii Romanov. I have run Easy Move Florida since 2021, and I have moved to Sacramento to open this branch. The same crews and the same way of working, in a state with its own rules — which I have read, because getting them wrong is your problem as much as mine.
- —I write your estimate myself, with the hours, the truck and the drive time on it.
- —I call your building or your gate before move day, so nothing is discovered on the day.
- —I add no line you have not approved. On a big job I take a deposit, agreed in writing with the estimate — never a surprise on the day.
- —If the job runs shorter than the estimate, you pay for the hours it took.
