Greater Sacramento has one of the largest Slavic communities in the United States — the census puts 20,000 Ukrainian immigrants in the Sacramento metro — more than the Los Angeles metro (17,000) or the Bay Area (14,000), and first in the nation by share of population — concentrated concentrated in Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, North Highlands and the Natomas area. Arranging a move in your own language should be ordinary here, and it still is not.
What most companies mean by "we have a Russian-speaking mover" is that somebody on some crew might. What we mean is that the person who prices your job, argues with your leasing office and answers the phone on move day speaks Russian, because that person is the owner.
What being understood actually saves you
- —The estimate is written in the language you read, so the hours and the truck line are not something you have to take on trust.
- —Building access is arranged by us with the office or the gate, not left to you to translate.
- —Nothing about the price arrives as a surprise, including California double drive time, which surprises people who moved here from another state.
- —If something goes wrong on the day, you are explaining it to the person who can fix it, not to a dispatcher.
How the price works
An hourly crew with a 3-hour minimum plus 1 hour of travel, the truck inside that rate rather than billed separately, and the drive between your two addresses — doubled on every hourly local move, whatever the distance, because California's Maximum Rate Tariff 4 requires it of every mover in the state.

Is the whole crew Russian-speaking?
The owner is, and he takes the call, writes the estimate and works the job. Part of the crew speaks Russian and part speaks Ukrainian. We will not claim that every person who turns up speaks it, because on some days that will not be true.
Can I get the estimate and the invoice in Russian?
Yes. Ask when you call and everything in writing comes in Russian.
Which neighbourhoods do you cover?
All of the Sacramento area: Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, North Highlands, Arden-Arcade, Natomas, and the rest of Sacramento, Placer, Yolo, El Dorado counties.
What is double drive time?
A California rule, not a company fee. On an hourly local move the state tariff bills loading, unloading and double the driving time between your two addresses. There is no distance threshold, so it applies however short the drive. It is on your estimate before you book.
