Movers in Folsom — the foothills start here, and so do the hills in your driveway
Owner-led crews across Folsom. Hourly with the truck inside the rate, a written ceiling before the work starts, English and Russian.
Not taking bookings yet — our California mover permit is with the state regulator. The rates and the way we work are below; ask anything and we will answer.
A price in about a minute, or a written answer the same day.

Folsom sits where the valley floor stops and the Sierra foothills begin — Carpenter Hill inside the city is the highest point in Sacramento County. That geography is the whole story of a move here. Driveways slope, houses step down the lot, and the newer estates on the east side run up and over rises that a loaded dolly feels. The historic streets around Sutter Street are a different problem again: narrow, parked-up, and beautiful. We ask which part of Folsom you are in before quoting, because the answer changes the hours more than the number of rooms does.

A sloped driveway is half an hour, not a fee
Where a house steps down the lot, the truck parks at the top and everything is carried up. That is real work and it goes into the estimate as hours. What it is not is a surcharge that appears at the end — there is no long-carry fee and no stairs fee on this site, in Folsom or anywhere else.
Historic Folsom needs the parking sorted first
Around Sutter Street the kerb space is short and often taken. We would rather agree where the truck goes the day before than lose forty minutes finding out on the morning, so we ask about it when we write the estimate.
Folsom to Sacramento is a doubled drive of about twenty miles
US-50 the whole way. Maximum Rate Tariff 4 Item 36 requires the driving time between the two addresses to be billed twice on every hourly local move, whatever the distance, so a Folsom-to-midtown day carries a visible drive-time line. It is on the estimate before you book.
Tech-hours households move at the ends of the week
Folsom has a large employer on its doorstep and a lot of households that can only move on a Friday or a Saturday. Those days book out first. If your date is fixed, tell us early; if it is flexible, a midweek slot is easier to get and the crew is fresher.
How a move here is charged
One hourly rate with the truck inside it. The minimum is 3 hours of work plus 1 hour of travel — $516 with two movers, at $129 an hour.
California bills that drive twice over — Maximum Rate Tariff 4, Item 36. It applies to every hourly local move, whatever the distance. It is the state tariff rather than our surcharge, and it is on the estimate before you book.
Rates: $129 an hour for two movers, $179 for three, $219 for four.

Thumbtack →Questions people ask
My driveway is steep and long. What does that do to the price?
It adds hours, and the estimate will already contain them if you tell us when you book. The truck parks where it can and the crew walks the difference. There is no separate long-carry charge — the walk is counted as time, which is both cheaper and easier to check.
Can you move a piano or a safe down from a foothill house?
Single heavy items are something we do, and the crew size and equipment depend on the piece and the path out. Send a photo of the item and of the route to the door and you will get a straight answer, not a maybe.
How is the drive to Sacramento billed?
Doubled, as California requires above five miles between addresses. Around twenty miles on US-50 in Folsom’s case. The estimate turns it into hours before you book so there is no surprise at the end of the day.
Do you do packing as well?
Yes — whole house, or just the kitchen and the fragile things. Packing has its own hourly rate, and materials you keep are quoted separately from the labour so you can see which is which.
