What we do

Local work across the Sacramento area, priced by the hour and written down before you book. The second list on this page is the one worth reading.

Not taking bookings yet — our California mover permit is with the state regulator. The rates and the way we work are below; ask anything and we will answer.

The inside of a loaded truck: cartons stacked to the roof, a shrink-wrapped sofa along one wall and a ladder strapped down the middle

Local household moving

A house, a townhome or an apartment, anywhere in the metro. Crew, truck, pads, stretch wrap and basic disassembly are the job — not extras. Priced by the hour with a minimum, plus one truck line for the day.

Packing

The whole house, or only the parts you would rather not do: the kitchen, the glassware, the artwork, the wardrobe. Packing is charged at its own hourly rate because it is slower, more careful work than carrying boxes.

Furniture disassembly and reassembly

Beds, tables, wardrobes, cots, treadmills — apart at one end and back together at the other. This is included in the hourly work rather than quoted per item.

Single heavy items

An upright piano, a gun safe, a slate pool table, a chest freezer. Tell us what it is, where it stands and what is between it and the truck, and we will tell you honestly whether it is a two-person job or a four-person one.

Loading and unloading only

You have hired a container or a rental truck and need the muscle and the packing sense. Same hourly crew, no truck line.

In-building and in-complex moves

One unit to another, one floor to another, or a storage unit across town. Short moves still need pads and a plan, and they are usually done inside the minimum.

Storage moves

Into a unit, back out of one, or straight from the old home to a facility. We can arrange the unit with you or work with one you have already rented, and the same crew that packed the truck is the one that fills the unit — which is what makes it fit and what makes it come out again without damage.

What we do not do

Said plainly, because a mover who takes a job they cannot do is how a move goes wrong in the most expensive way.

Interstate moves

A household move across a state line needs federal operating authority we do not hold. We will not take one and we will not broker one either. What we will do is pack you before the long-haul crew arrives, and tell you what to check in whoever you hire.

International shipping and customs

That is a licensed freight forwarder’s work, not a mover’s. We can pack for it.

Junk removal and cleaning

Not our trade. Ask and we will point you at someone local who does it.

How are all of these priced?

Every one of them is the same shape: an hourly crew with a 3-hour minimum plus 1 hour of travel, and the truck inside the hourly rate rather than beside it. Packing has its own hourly rate. The drive between your two addresses is on the clock and doubled, as California requires on every hourly local move.

Can you do a move at short notice?

Often, yes. We are a small operation, which cuts both ways: no call centre telling you a slot exists when it does not, and no pretence that we can put four crews out tomorrow. Call and you will get a straight answer about the date.

Do you provide boxes and materials?

Pads, stretch wrap and straps come with the crew as loaners. Boxes, paper and tape are things you keep, so they are quoted separately and only if you want them from us.

Tell us the two addresses and the date

That is enough for a written estimate with the hours, the truck and the drive time spelled out. You are talking to the owner, not a call centre.
