Woodland is old for this valley and it shows in the two things that decide a move here. The national register nomination for the downtown historic district records that all but a few of the buildings on Main Street are built out to the sidewalk — there is no setback to back into, so loading happens at the kerb. And 1,630 of the city’s homes were built in 1939 or earlier, which means narrow stairs, real plaster and doorways cut for furniture that was smaller than yours.

On Main Street the kerb is the loading dock

The district is about thirty-seven acres with fifty-nine contributing buildings, and the nomination is explicit that all but a few of them are built out to the sidewalk. A 26-foot truck parks on the street and the carry starts there. We would rather know that before the day than find it at eight in the morning.

Half the housing predates 1980

ACS counts 10,632 of 22,116 units built in 1979 or earlier and 1,630 built in 1939 or earlier. The city says plainly that many of its homes and buildings are well over a hundred years old. Older stock means narrower stairs and tighter turns at the landing, and that is hours rather than a fee.

City of Trees, and the trees are over the road

Woodland calls itself the City of Trees and valley oaks are the predominant species planted around it. A mature valley oak over a residential street is lower than it looks to a car. Where the canopy is tight we bring a smaller truck or shuttle from a clear spot, decided in advance.

Six hundred and fifty-two mobile homes

More than any other town we serve. A mobile-home move is its own kind of job — narrower doors, shallower steps, and awnings and skirting that decide where a dolly can go. Say so when you book and the crew comes set up for it.

How a move here is charged

Easy Move Sacramento charges one hourly rate with the truck inside it. You are billed for the loading, the unloading and double the drive between your two addresses, on a 4-hour minimum — $516 with two movers, at $129 an hour.

California bills that drive twice over — Maximum Rate Tariff 4, Item 36. It applies to every hourly local move, whatever the distance. It is the state tariff rather than our surcharge, and it is on the estimate before you book.

Rates: $129 an hour for two movers, $179 for three, $219 for four.

New here, not new to this

We are the Sacramento branch of Easy Move Florida, which has been moving families since 2021 and holds 4.7 on Thumbtack from 33 reviews and 5.0 on Google from 8. Thumbtack publishes a review only against a job booked through it; Google goes by its own genuine-experience policies. Both show every review rather than a chosen few. Those reviews belong to the Easy Move Florida office and to the same owner who will run your move here; Sacramento has just opened, and our own reviews will come from our first jobs in the metro.

Questions people ask

Can a full-size truck get to a Main Street address?

Usually yes, but it parks on the street rather than in a yard: the historic-district nomination records that almost every building on Main Street is built out to the sidewalk. Tell us the block and we will look at where the truck can legally stand before the day.

How much does a move in Woodland cost?

Four billable hours is the minimum, at the hourly rate for your crew size, with the truck inside that rate. Billable time is the loading, the unloading and double the drive between your two addresses, as the state tariff requires.

Do you move mobile homes and manufactured housing?

We move what is inside them. Transporting the structure itself needs a different permit and a different truck, and we do not pretend otherwise. Contents, furniture and appliances out of a mobile home are ordinary work.

Is Woodland inside your area?

Yes. It is about twenty miles from the Capitol and a normal booking, the same as Roseville in the other direction. The hourly rate does not change with the county line; only the drive time on the estimate does.
