Rancho Cordova runs along US-50 with six miles of American River frontage on its north edge, and it was built in layers: the original post-war streets from the late 1940s, then decades of subdivisions, then planned communities out towards Sunrise and beyond. The older streets have carports, single-car drives and mature trees over the road; the newer villages have the space you would expect. It is also one of the parts of the metro where a Russian-speaking crew is not a novelty — the Slavic settlement of Sacramento County spread here early, and it shows.

The Slavic community here is not an afterthought

Sacramento County has one of the largest Russian-speaking populations in the United States, and the community settled in specific places rather than evenly — Rancho Cordova is one of them, along with Citrus Heights, North Highlands, Fair Oaks, Carmichael and West Sacramento. You can book this move entirely in Russian, and the owner writes the estimate himself.

The old streets and the new villages are different jobs

On the post-war grid off Folsom Boulevard the driveways are short, the garages are single and mature trees limit where a twenty-six-foot truck can stand. Out in the newer villages the access is straightforward. Both are normal work; they simply take different numbers of hours, and we would rather ask than guess.

Rancho Cordova to Sacramento is doubled

About ten miles down US-50, which is well past the five-mile line, so Maximum Rate Tariff 4 Item 36 requires the driving time to be billed twice. Rancho Cordova to Gold River or Carmichael is much shorter, and the estimate shows the difference plainly.

Apartment complexes here often want the lift booked

A large share of the housing is in complexes, and many of them want a moving window and the lift reserved. We deal with the office directly and get the paperwork done before the day, rather than turning up and finding out.

How a move here is charged

One hourly rate with the truck inside it. The minimum is 3 hours of work plus 1 hour of travel — $516 with two movers, at $129 an hour.

California bills that drive twice over — Maximum Rate Tariff 4, Item 36. It applies to every hourly local move, whatever the distance. It is the state tariff rather than our surcharge, and it is on the estimate before you book.

Rates: $129 an hour for two movers, $179 for three, $219 for four.

Questions people ask

Можно всё обсудить по-русски?

Да. Владелец сам пишет сметы по-русски и по-английски, часть бригады говорит по-украински. Звоните или пишите в WhatsApp — ответит человек, а не робот.

Do you handle apartment complexes with a booked lift?

Yes, and we prefer to arrange it ourselves. We contact the office, agree the window and get any certificate of insurance requirement sorted before the day. That paperwork is the thing that most often delays a morning if it is left to the customer.

Is the drive to Sacramento billed twice?

Yes, because it is about ten miles and California requires double drive time above five. That is Item 36 of Maximum Rate Tariff 4, it applies to every mover in the state, and it is written into the estimate before you book.

Can you move just a few heavy things?

Yes. A piano, a safe, a treadmill or a single bedroom is a normal booking. The minimum is three hours of work plus one hour of travel, so a small job is still a minimum-sized invoice — we will tell you that before you decide, not after.
